The Prayer of St. Francis
“Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.”
Our Parish Prayer
Dear Brother Francis,
Please intercede for us as we walk along our life path. Help us see God in all His people, creatures, and the environment. Please help us to become good stewards of the world and its resources.
Through our participation in the Eucharist, may we learn to love each person as a child of God, as you did. May we learn to serve them and honor each individual’s dignity and worth. Help us build God’s kingdom here on earth, so that we may be rewarded with the promises of eternal life with Him one day.
Our patron and our guide, take our petition before the throne of grace. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen!
